Family Owned Brewery

Hello everyone! Let us introduce ourselves! We are Steve and Melissa Clayton, residents here in Chester VA. We are excited to announce that we are opening a Brewery, Winery and Meadery in Chester. I am sure everyone has been wondering lately what has been going on with the mystery construction that has started in the old "Crab Dump" location. That would be our new adventure in Craft Brewing!

Steve has been brewing personally for over 10 years now and has completed the University of Richmond Professional Brewers Program. His passion for beer knows no limits - he can create a variety of different styles that can please any beer drinker from a light summer lager to a hoppy double IPA.

Melissa has been creating wines for over 10 years as well. She is currently a student at Washington State University earning a degree in Viticulture and Enology (growing grapes and making wine). She has won 2 Gold Medals in the International Amateur Wine Makers Competition for 2019 for her Sauvignon Blanc and Red Blend. A vineyard in Appomattox, VA was planted this year that will take 3-4 years to mature but she will feature her own small batch wines and local wineries until the vineyard is fully operational.

I'm sure most folks are wondering, "what exactly is Mead". Mead is a wine made with Honey. It is crafted similar to wine but drinks like a Cider. Our meads are of moderate alcohol content, carbonated, and contain real fruit. It will be served on tap like beer. Another bonus, it is a gluten free option for those with dietary sensitivities.

We are so excited to open, looking at late winter, early spring given demolition, remodeling and outfitting the brew house. Keep coming back to visit this site for updates as we get closer to opening day!
